Join Lake of the Woods Community on Saturday, September 16 from 10am to 6pm at The Lake of the Woods Community Center (110 Sweetbriar Park Rd) in Locust Grove, for the 35th year of the annual Art Photography and Craft Show and Sale.
The Lake of the Woods Visual Arts Council hosts and sponsors each years show in September. LOWVAC is a non-profit group made up of volunteer fellow residents artists who plan this event annually. Jan Moore is the current Chairman of LOWVAC.
This year will honor past leaders & include some items from past shows. Hugh Norton, a photographer for the army and Ellie Baughman, a water-colorist, were co-chair members from 1985-1989 and still live in LOW and will have a special display for each of them, highlighting some of their work.
Deadline to participate (showcase or sell your art) at this event is September 9th. Entry forms are located in the foyer, lower level of the Holocomb building and at the Community Center.
During this day & time, there will also be a wine tasting festival!
Can’t make it to Saturday’s Art show? The fun continues!
While the wine festival will end on Saturday, the LOWVAC Art sale/show will continue on Sunday, September 17th from 10am – 4pm at the Community Center!

In Lake of the Woods in August, a total of 23 homes were sold, all of which were standard sale, 0 sold under $175K, 12 between $175-250K, and 7 between $250-350K , and 4 for over $350,000. Two lots sold for under $30,000.

Join the fun: Sunday, September 17th at the Lion’s Pavilion at Sweebriar Park from 12pm to 4pm.
You will be able to taste all the various flavors of Virginia wines in our region and even local foods !! There will be about 5 or 6 wineries in attendance and you can taste your wine with a sandwich, a salad, or another delicious item from Randy Cooper’s food truck: Zobirds.
This event is held simultaneous with the Lake of the Woods Visual Arts Council Art show.
This general event is free to attend, open to Lake of the Woods residents & their guests; wineries may charge tasting fees and you must be 21+ to sample.

The Orange Street Festival is brought to you by the Orange County Chamber of Commerce and this will be their 42nd year organizing this event.
Saturday, September 9th from 9 AM – 6 PM. There will be vendors, live music, and even children’s activities.
It is open to all ages and 100% free to attend. Vendors will have a range of local artwork, crafts, jewelry and even some specialty food and drinks.
Bring a chair to enjoy the music at the park since there is limited seating. There are park benches but they tend to fill up very quickly.
Live entertainment begins at 2pm featuring the David Bradley Duo and at 4pm the Mid Life Crisis Band of Charlottesville will perform.
Their will be a beer garden for the adults (sponsored by Design Craft Homes). For the children, there will be a variety of activities that include free face painting, free arts and crafts, inflatable slides, and more, so come check it out!
