Valkyrie Ranch, located at 10053 Barnes Rd, Locust Grove VA 22508, is hosting a Bandanna Club for youths 8 years old and older. They aim to give kids a well-rounded horsemanship education. They will learn about all aspects of horse care, training and of course – riding!
This 8 week after school course is similar to karate in that the children will have the opportunity to work up the levels and earn earn the coordinating colored bandannas. Sessions are 2 hours long and each course is limited to 3 to 4 students. In each session, students will help keep the barn area clean, have a knowledge based lesson, groom and saddle their horses, work with the horses on the ground and RIDE!
After completing and testing for their first level bandanna students continue into group or private riding lessons.
Registration is $325 and includes the 8 week course, t-shirt bandanna club notebook with handouts as well as first level testing after completing the course.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner! Make reservations at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse for your Thanksgiving dinner. Clubhouse is located at: 102 Lake of the Woods Way, Locust Grove, VA 22508. There are only two times available and with limited seating. Thursday, November 22nd 11:30 am until 1:30 pm or 2 pm until 4 pm.
The Clubhouse will be offering a buffet with some DELICIOUS options including but not limited to: Oven Roasted Turkey, Carved Virginia Baked Ham, Carved Baron of Beef, Pan-seared Rockfish in Garlic Butter, fried oysters, traditional stuffing, and so much more! There will even be an assortment of desserts and pies to finish your meal with something sweet.

Hot Air Balloon Festival in Bealeton Virginia!
The Flying Circus Air show will be hosting a hot air balloon festival in Bealeton Virginia on August 18 through August 19!
This is their first PREMIER ANNUAL EVENT and features an airshow on Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. The balloon launches EARLY Saturday and Sunday morning as well as AFTER both shows (weather permitting, of course).
There will be balloon demos, tethered rides (stationary & balloon is tied to the ground), airplane rides, balloon races and many more activities on both days.
There is a huge crowd expected so get there EARLY to claim your spot. The balloons are dependent on CALM conditions so keep an eye on their Facebook and web page for launch updates.
The floating balloon rides are FREE and can be arranged with the individual balloonist. Their phone numbers will be posted at the front door of the gift shop both days so you can make your appointment. Their Facebook states that they will post a list earliest on their event page if they can.
