The Summer Theatre Camp held by the Lake of the Woods Players Club at the Lake of the Woods Community Center is scheduled for the week of Monday, June 12th through Friday, June 16th, 2023 between 9AM and 3:30PM. Followed by a theater Camp Show Friday at 6 PM. Do you have a child between the ages of 8 and 14 that shows interest in acting, singing, dancing, or a combination of all? Keep reading!
Throughout the camp, daily classes will be held for acting, singing, script writing, backstage, dance, and more. All levels are invited to attend with fun games and activities also scheduled. Students will learn and create a show to perform on the last day of camp for family and friends. The cost is $250 per attendee and includes daily snacks, a camp t-shirt, and a Friday evening dinner. Most importantly, you do NOT have to be a Lake of the Woods Resident to attend this camp. If you enjoy singing and dancing and not afraid of sharing the stage, consider auditioning for the Lake of the Woods Player’s Club’s upcoming performance of Scrooge, the Musical! The book, music and lyrics were written by Leslie Bricusse, and this play will be Directed by Barbara Cochran. They are looking for cast members for children 8 and up for this show! Prepare for auditions being held for two days only: Sunday, August 21st from 2pm – 5pm and Monday, August 22nd from 7pm – 9pm. Are you looking to give your kids a great experience on the lake this summer? This might be the perfect opportunity! The Junior Sailing Program will be offering two youth sailing camps starting this summer! The first session will be for beginner sailors and will be held from June 22nd through June 26th. The second session will be for the more advanced class, being 2 or more years of JSP camp experience, will be from June 29th to July 2nd. Both camps will be for children 8-15 who can swim and are interested in learning how to sail properly, and safely. Both camps will run from 8AM – 12PM at Sailboat Beach. All campers are required to wear swimsuits, closed-toe water shoes, a Coast Guard-approved life jacket, and must bring a working whistle. The cost for a week-long session of camp is $190, and application forms are available at the Holcomb Building Member Services Area. From 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM you’ll enjoy your choice of wine, beer or sparkling cider, cheese and delectable chocolate covered strawberries!
