Try the German Food and Beer while supporting the local community clubs. Golf starts at 9:00am and the band will be playing from 1pm-5pm. Sign up to play golf at Pro Shop, it will cost $40 per person. There will be a 9 Hole Scramble, Moon Bounce for the kids, corn bag toss, kiddies corn bag toss, and of course musical entertainment by Oompah Band. The Soggy Doggie event is such a great way to close out the final days of summer and a wonderful ending to close down the pool season. Best of all, we are given an opportunity to watch these dogs enjoy themselves and have so much fun at the pool! Bring Fido to the Sweetbriar Pool (110 Sweetbriar Park Rd, Locust Grove, VA 22508) on Sunday, September 12 between 1pm – 3pm for the chance to close out the summer in the Lake of the Woods’ pool! Grab your pooches and bring them for what is sure to be a blast for all! Registration including proof of vaccinations is required. Pre-registration is available here. Humans will not be allowed in the pool with the dogs, and Owners are responsible for clean-up duty. In lieu of a registration fee, they are asking for donations of dog or cat food or a check made payable to the Orange County Animal Shelter!

The LOWS Pools Committee is hosting an adult beer & pretzel fundraiser on Saturday, August 28th. The fun is scheduled to start at 7pm and end by 10pm at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse pool!
The entry fee of $20 covers 1 individual and includes 2 glasses of beer and snacks. Additional beer may be purchased for $5 per glass. Tickets must be purchased in advance online here by August 25! Rain make-up date will be September 3rd and lifeguards will be on duty!

This year’s 46th Orange County’s Street Festival will be in honor and remembrance of September 11, 2011, with the theme of HONOR OUR HEROES hosted by the Orange County Chamber of Commerce.

The Lake of the Woods Adaptive Watersports Foundation is back and ready to host the SmileS Adaptive Carnival!
This Carnival brings water sports to people with disabilities of all ages and walks of life, as well as their families. The Carnival is held in honor of 2 highly honored women who left this world too young. What sports will be featured? There will be adaptive waterskiing, tubing, pontoon rides, kayaking, paddleboarding, and additional fun outdoor games! This year, LOW is partnering with Therapeutic Adventures – IndependencePlus Adaptive Sports to bring adaptive paddling!
This event is to take place on Sunday, August 1st at 9AM at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse Point (102 Lake of the Woods Way, Locust Grove, VA 22508).
