Happy Halloween! Here’s the LOWdown on Halloween at the Lake! Trick or treating hours are 5-8PM. Treats on the Point will be available from 6PM-7PM, where trick-or-treaters can fill their bags along the path with residents dishing out the treats! People wanting to participate by handing out treats at the point should set up by 5:45PM.
Children will be arriving at 6pm! Signs and banners will be permitted, so this is a great chance to promote your group/club/organization! If you are not wanting to participate in trick-or-treat festivities, please turn your outside lights off. Trick-or-treaters, please pass by homes that have the outside lights off. Whether handing out candy or collecting it, come dressed for the occasion! It has begun! The annual coat drive hosted by Edward Jones Financial Advisor: Yvette Ruiz will be in full swing on September 1st. Locust Grove Middle School is in need of new or gently used coats for their students.

Old Dominion Jeep Fest at Wilderness Run Vineyards
August 11 and August 12 join Big Snatch Off Road for the Old Dominion Jeep Fest. They are partnering with 1781 Brewing Co. and Wilderness Run Vineyards to bring you ANOTHER great JEEP SHOW in Virginia! Last year was a success and they expect this year to be twice as good!
The fun begins at 10AM on August 11th through August 12 until 3pm.
They plan on highlighting new products and this Old Dominion Jeep Fest is open to all fans of the off-road and they will be featuring a “show and grime.” There will be Trail Riding, an obstacle course and even a mud pit for all the mud lovers.
There will be many vendors there that will be able to get you ready for the rocks and mud and even highlight some of the regions best trails.
Of course there will be beer and barbecue by some of the region’s best food artists available to devour while you enjoy the event!

Civic Club Hosts Reception for LOWA BOD Candidates by Pat Licata, President
Please join the Civic Club on Wednesday, July 11th, at 5:30 PM, as we host a Reception for the Candidates in the Great Hall of the Clubhouse. We encourage you to mingle with the candidates from 5:30-6pm, with the forum beginning at 6pm. Each candidate will have 2-3 minutes to deliver his/her message to the audience. A cash bar will be available, and light hors d’oeuvres will be served.
The Lake of the Woods Board candidates are Heidi Brown, Pete Brown, Ralph Debnam, Walt Diercks, Bill Feterle, Bill Logan, Allen Priester, and Adrien Terrenoiere. The candidates will be vying for 3 Board of Directors vacancies on the 7 member Board. LOWA will mail ballots to lot owners near the end of July and the balloting will conclude on September 1st at the Association’s Annual Meeting.
The Reception for the Candidates is open to all members of the community. Please plan to attend so you may become better acquainted with the candidates. We look forward to seeing you on the 11th
