This children’s event is for children ages 5 to 14 and welcome to Lake of the Woods residents and their guests.
It will be held at the Lake of the Woods front entrance pond on Saturday, June 16th. Check in will start at 8am sharp and the tournament follows beginning at 9am!
The tournament wraps up at 11am with lunch being served to participants and family members immediately after the competition is over. There will be an awards ceremony following at 12pm.

Orange County Public Schools partners with National Inventors Hall of Fame for this Camp Invention! What is Camp Invention? It is a unique elementary summer enrichment program that incorporates science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) focus for the children in the community.
The camp is the week of June 18th and ends June 22nd. This program is open to children in grades Kindergarten – 6th grade and they will experience real world problem solving, creative thinking, invention and teamwork activities. The hands-on activities are hosted by local, certified educators with the goal to fuel children’s confidence in their natural ability to dream and create.

Each day children will participate in four fun-filled modules with a Fast Forward curriculum.
Mod My Mini Mansion – they will dream up and design their own futuristic smart home! From talking mirrors to toasters that can cook their favorite foods – they will invent and build models of the smart gadgets!
Robotic Pet Vet – During this activity the campers diagnose “robotic dogs” that are “malfunctioning” and use innovation and creativity to design and build dog parks and attractions to get these malfunctioning pups out of the streets and somewhere safe!
Optibot – the children will design ultimate, futuristic vehicles that are self-driving and sense changes in the light.
Stick To It – they will have the opportunity to invent something new everyday with new challenges arising daily. Let the creativity and ideas flow!

Wounded Veterans Watersports 2018 at Lake of the Woods!
Hosted by the Lake of the Woods Adaptive Water sports Foundation
Saturday, June 16th from 9AM – 4PM at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse Point (205 Lakeview Pkwy, Locust Grove VA 22508).
Visit Lake of the Woods for a FREE fun day on the water with friends, families and neighbors! The LOW Adaptive Water sports Foundation is teaming up with Wounded Warrior Project for the 4th year in a row and bringing water sports to wounded veterans and their families.
Sports include: water-skiing, tubing, pontoon rides, kayaking, paddle-boarding and plenty of fun outdoor games! Share this great day within a great community!
Lunch, snacks and water will be provided for free throughout the day.
All activities are open to veterans and their friends and families however veterans will have priority for adaptive water-skiing!

Sail with Lake of the Woods Sailing Clubs 37th Annual Invitational Regatta.
If you wish to participate, contact the Club for registration and additional information.
Spectators are always welcome of course – and a spectator boat will be available during the race for better viewing purposes!
Flying Scots, Sunfish and other classes of sailing boats are expected to come during this race.
Warning Gun for First Race 10:55AM. Sailors from around the Washington area are expected to compete in this race!

As of right now, weather is looking to be 70 degrees Fahrenheit and partly cloudy.

Mark your calendar! The Spring LOW Community Open House will be held on Sunday, May 6 from noon to 4 PM. Visitors come from near and far to view properties in LOW. The tour begins at the Clubhouse, where attendees learn which properties will be held open. They receive information and a map from Clubhouse volunteers to begin their self-guided tour. Lake Youth Foundation (LYF) is hosting an Easter Egg hunt at Sweetbriar Park (Sweetbriar Rd, Locust Grove 22508) on Saturday, March 31st, 2018. The event will take place from 12:30pm – 1:30pm. There will be 4 age groups with specific time frames as shown below: 2 years old and under 1 pm 3 – 5 years 1:10p 6 – 8 years 1:20p and 9 – 12 years 1:30p Check-in begins at 12:30pm and they ask that you do not arrive prior to 12:30pm. The Easter Bunny will be there at 12:30pm as well to take photos with you and your little ones! He will remain there after the hunt for another photo opportunity. Don’t forget your cameras! Please also bring a BASKET for each child you will have participating. Registration for the Easter Egg hunt deadline is Saturday, March 24 so register here NOW! If there is bad weather, the egg hunt will be cancelled, however the Easter Bunny will still be available for pictures & each child will receive a treat. This event is free but they will accept donation to help fund other events as well as their scholarship program.
