Lake of the Woods Fourth of July Independence Day Celebration!
We hope you join in the celebration of Independence Day on Saturday, July 7th, at Lake of the Woods!
A parade hosted by the LOW Veteran’s Club at 10 AM begins the day of festivities from Yorktown Blvd to the Clubhouse. The Licata Group is participating in the parade, so please say hello as we go by!
A flag raising ceremony in front of the Clubhouse follows at 11:45 AM. Then the Festival on Clubhouse Point will feature rides, treats, and fun for the family from 12 to 4pm, with the Parade Awards presentation at 1pm at the Clubhouse Deck.
Don’t miss the Water Ski Club Show from 6 pm to 8pm, and the finale of the evening…fireworks from the top of Veterans Dam starting at 9 PM (or dusk)!
Please be extra careful around the lake that day, as there will be parade activity, road closures, and lots of traffic on the roads, as well as on the lake itself. Happy 4th (on the 7th), everyone!!!

The Licata Group is excited to support Project Turn OrangeBlue this year in Locust Grove, Virginia.
This is Ben & Sharon Corner’s 5th Annual Project: Turn OrangeBlue and we want to assist with making it another successful year!
There are shirts that can be ordered that read: “They can’t change who they are, we need to change how we treat them” which was said by Ben Corner when he started this project.
Shirts come in medium & large in children sizes for $10.
Adult sizes: Small through XL for $10
and 2XL – 4XL for $12
Orders will be taken from March 12 through March 26th and will be picked up by 12 PM on Monday, March 26th. You can sign up for t-shirt order at Licata Group’s Real Estate office located at: 36111 Goodwin Dr, Locust Grove Virginia. Checks must be left with the order and made out to: Brandy Printing. T-shirts will be delivered the week of Spring Break or Monday, April 9th.

There are cracks in the foundation. Nothing structural. Nothing that’s going to threaten the stability of the home, but they’re there. Nooks, crannies and holes through which seeps an invisible threat. Colorless, odorless and undetectable by your average human, it is nonetheless the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States.
Radon gas – even the name sounds ominous, evoking images of radiation and nuclear devastation. Radon gas is created when uranium in the soil decays. The gas then seeps through any access point into a home. Common entry points are cracks in the foundation, poorly sealed pipes, drainage or any other loose point. Once in the home, the gas can collect in certain areas – especially basements and other low-lying, closed areas – and build up over time to dangerous levels. The Environmental Protection Agency of the US Government has set a threshold of 4 pico curies per liter as the safe level. As humans are exposed to the gas over a period of years, it can have a significant and detrimental effect.
