SmileS Adaptive Carnival 2022 by LOW Adaptive Watersports Foundation!

Join the LOW Adaptive Water Sports Foundation, Sunday, July 10th from 9AM to 3PM for a FREE fun day on the water! Bring your friends and family for the annual event that brings watersports to differently-abled people of all ages, walks of life and their families!

The carnival is held in honor of 2 women who left the world far too soon and young. This is a time to come together as a community and support each other with unconditional love and support.

There will be adaptive water-skiing, tubing, pontoon rides, kayaking, paddle-boarding and many outdoor games to play and participate in! This year, they are partnering with Therapeutic Adventures – IndependencePlus Adaptive Sports to bring adaptive paddling!

Licata Group Supports the LOW Lioness Lions Club School Supply Drive!

School starts August 11, 2021, this year and the LOW Lioness Lions Club is holding its annual School Supply Drive to support the Locust Grove Primary & Elementary Schools. They help these 2 schools by providing the necessary supplies to ensure a successful school year for the teachers and students alike.

Donations will be collected at the Lake of the Woods FRONT GATE on July 10th and July 24th from 9AM to 1PM OR you may bring your donations in Monday – Friday July 12th through July 23rd from 9AM – 5PM at our Licata Group Office (located in the Food Lion shopping center, between AT&T and CVS) OR you may donate a check for the Lionesses to purchase the items listed in the first flyer. Please make checks payable to: “LOW LIONESS FOUNDATION” and write “SCHOOL SUPPLY” in the check memo section. Please MAIL those checks to: PO BOX 811, Locust Grove VA 22508.

We love supporting great causes and if you choose to drop your donations off at the Licata Group office: you have the opportunity to enter to win TWO tickets to the FREDERICKSBURG NATIONALS game on July 31st. The winner will be drawn & announced on our Licata Group Facebook page during LicataLive at 11AM on Tuesday, July 27th!

On Wednesday, October 28 from 10AM-12PM, LOWLINC will hold a membership information session at the Community Center. The mission of LOWLINC, a 501(c)3 non-profit, is “…to enable seniors and those with physical and cognitive challenges who reside at LOW to continue living fully and independently in their homes for as long as possible.” There are currently over 30 volunteers who are excited to help older residents of Lake of the Woods. Membership is fee-based, with the goal being to provide subsidies for residents in need. RSVP to carolyn@lowlinc.org or Jeri F. at 972-2180.
