The LOW Lioness Lions Club holds an annual School Supply Drive to support the Locust Grove Primary and Elementary Schools. They help these two schools by providing supplies needed to ensure a successful school year for both teachers and students. Donations will be collected at the LAKE OF THE WOODS FRONT GATE, Saturday, July 23rd from 9AM to 12PM, or you may donate a check for the Lionesses to purchase the items listed below. Please mail checks to PO BOX 811, Locust Grove VA 22508, please make checks payable to “LOW Lioness Foundation” and write “School Supply” in the check memo selection. Donations will also be accepted at The Licata Group’s Office, across from LOW Front Gate and in between AT&T and CVS in the Food Lion shopping center. Licata Group’s hours are Monday through Friday from 9 AM – 5:30 PM and will accept donations from Monday, July 18th through Friday, July 22nd. Please donate ONLY the items listed below:

On Saturday, July 9th the Lake of the Woods Sweetbriar Pool will be hosting a PIRATES & MERMAIDS fun-filled day! Event is to begin at 1pm until 6pm complete with swimming, games and relative decorations. Come prepared in your pirate outfit and mermaid swimsuits and tails for a free ice cream for the first 50 participants dressed in theme. Are you ready for the first concert of the season??? New to Lake of the Woods, The Unsuitables will be kicking off the Concerts on the Point series on Friday, May 27th! The Unsuitables, formed about eight years ago, will begin at 7pm and play tunes from the Temptations to Santana to the Beatles until approximately 9:30pm. The Lake of the Woods Lions Club will be acting as “hospitality committee” at the concert, and hosting a fundraiser. Why not have dinner at the Clubhouse before or during the concert on the deck? Want to bring your own meal? That’s perfect, as well! So bring a chair, your dancing shoes, and enjoy the music with your fellow LOW residents! The concerts are always a great way to spend the evening! We love all the seasons of the lake and we love our community members! We combined both by creating a fun contest to showcase all of the beautiful seasons the lake has to offer. What does this entail? On Sunday, May 1st from 9AM to mid-afternoon, visit the Lake of the Woods Equestrian Center (located at 100 Tally-Ho Lane, Locust Grove VA 22508) for their Hunter Series Horse show. It’s time to start planning for your Independence day celebration activities! Save the date for Saturday, July 2nd, 2022 for the Lake of the Woods’ Fourth of July Independence Day Celebration full of fun. What’s in store? Flag Ceremony, parade, activities on the point and of course, FIREWORKS!!!! Opening Ceremony is scheduled to being at 9:45AM at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse parking lot, followed by the parade from 10am to noon that will begin on Yorktown Blvd all the way to the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse parking lot. The point activities shall began at noon time and end around 4pm. To settle into the night, the Ski Club will perform their show at 6pm on the Clubhouse dock followed by Fireworks at Veterans dam that are scheduled to begin promptly at dark, approximately at 9:15am!

Save the date for Sunday, March 6th as the Local Artists of Lake of the Woods showcase their artwork for display to the community. All are encouraged to visit Fareways Café, March 6th between 2pm – 5pm for the first of what will be a series of receptions hosted by the LOW Arts and Fareways Cafe to meet and interact with your local resident artists. The artists will begin displaying their recent creations on the walls of the café starting in March. Fareways Café is located in the LOW Woods Center at 108 Fairway Dr, Locust Grove VA 22508. Artwork will be available to purchase by direct contact with the artists. Come out and enjoy this free reception that will be serving light refreshments and providing live entertainment! Your entertainer for the night is local musician, Scott Stallard playing an acoustic guitar and vocals with a 60s and 70s atmosphere.
