Save the date for Saturday, July 2nd, 2022 for the Lake of the Woods’ Fourth of July Independence Day Celebration full of fun. What’s in store? Flag Ceremony, parade, activities on the point and of course, FIREWORKS!!!! Opening Ceremony is scheduled to being at 9:45AM at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse parking lot, followed by the parade from 10am to noon that will begin on Yorktown Blvd all the way to the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse parking lot. The point activities shall began at noon time and end around 4pm. To settle into the night, the Ski Club will perform their show at 6pm on the Clubhouse dock followed by Fireworks at Veterans dam that are scheduled to begin promptly at dark, approximately at 9:15am!

The LOW Lioness Lions Club is sponsoring a Mardi Gras Dinner Dance at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse on Saturday, March 5th, 2022. Orange County, Virginia’s restaurant week returns during the week of January 21st through 30th. What is restaurant week, anyway? Typically, the local county restaurants will provide a special menu for the week with a selection of their favorite dining options, for a pre-fixed price. Usually, menus will be a 3 or 4-course meal, so you can try a variety of options from their menu, including an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert. The restaurants will announce on their websites if they are participating and show off their special menus, as well as on the Orange County Chamber of Commerce website. This is our favorite time of the year because it’s a great way to try those locally owned eateries we’ve been driving by and seeing around town! The LOW Players Club is performing a musical Christmas this 2021 season and tickets are on sale, NOW! This will be performed by the highly sought-after ShowStoppers! Visit the LOW Community Center, Saturday and Sunday, September 25th and 26th between 10AM – 5PM to enjoy fine arts created by our very own local artists here in Lake of the Woods, Virginia.
This event will be the 37th Annual Fine Art Show held by the Lake of the Woods Visual Arts Council (LOWVAC) now known as LOW Arts, with the first having been in 1981; unfortunately, due to the pandemic in 2020, it was not held.
There will be a variety of mediums showcased and for sale, including paintings, photography, glass, fiber, jewelry, pottery, mixed media, and so much more, there is sure to be something for everyone! In addition to art, the Lake Authors of the Wilderness will be attending for sales and signing of their books, and the LOW Woodworking Club will reveal their creations made during one of their Challenges. Not only LOW artists will be featured; student artwork from the local county public schools will also be on display for admiration.
There will be a RAFFLES and a Silent Auction held to benefit the Orange County public school art programs with a theme of “LAKE LIFE.” Up for raffle will be 6 different wooden animals pull toys (animals of the lake) hand-painted by LOW artists, a “basket of art” that includes hundreds of dollars worth of artwork from participating artists, a gorgeous wood cutting board, and lastly, two large panels each featuring a dozen small works by LOW Arts members.
