The Lake Youth Foundation’s 22nd Annual Children’s Fishing Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 15th from 9AM – 11AM. Children ages 4 to 14 years old may participate so long as they are registered to do so! There will be no registrations taken the day of tournament – so register ASAP.
Check in on June 15th will begin at 8AM. The tournament will begin at 9am and end at 11am. Lunch will be served immediately following the tournament for children and families that participated in the event. The awards ceremony will begin at 12pm!

For one day, Saturday, April 27th Horton Vineyards, located at: 6399 Spotswood Trail, Gordonsville VA 22942 will be hosting a free Wizarding Winery event! There will be indoor and outdoor games, shopping opportunities with different vendors, complete with make your own wand stations and much more! No tickets will be necessary to purchase or RSVP for.
This magical event will take place from 12pm to 4pm and open to everyone! You are encouraged and welcomed to bring tents and chairs for your group to set up outside as well as dress up and participate in all the activities. There will be Medieval Fantasies Company present dressed up and walking through the crowds for entertainment. The Bavarian Chef will also be at the Vineyard from 11AM – 4PM serving their best delicious dishes! The Kid Expo is coming to Fredericksburg Expo Center for the 6th year on Saturday, February 9th from 10AM – 5pm and Sunday, February 10th from 11AM – 4PM. Adults will be $8 at the door, Kids aged 4 – 12 will be $3 at the door and kids 3 & under are free.

Don’t miss Lake Anna’s 2019 Brewfest happening in Spotyslvania right down the road from us here in Lake of the Woods!
Saturday, May 18th from 11 am to 5pm at the Lake Anna State Park (6800 Lawyers Rd, Spotsylvania VA 22551), Lake Anna will be hosting their sixth annual Brewfest right on their shores. VIP admission will start at 11 am, general admission begins at 12 pm, and the event concludes at 5 pm for everyone.
There will be over 30 different local and regional breweries featuring more than 65 different beers, cider, wine and even moonshine! There will be a variety of over 30 food vendors to enjoy lunch or early dinner while enjoying your alcoholic beverage tastings. What’s beer and dinner without music? There will be live music and even some games to get you through the day!
Of course this is a family friendly event and the proceeds from this Brewfest will help the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Friends of Lake Anna State Park.
Tickets are currently $20 each for super early bird purchases and includes a commemorative pint glass with 10 sampling tickets and access to the event. Additional sampling tickets can be purchased, CASH, at the event for $1 each. VIP super early bird tickets are $40 and include the commemorative pint glass with unlimited samples, entry at 11 am as well as general access to the whole event. And if you’re planning on drinking, don’t forget about your designated driver! Their tickets are only $10 each (this price also applied to anyone 16-20 years in age).
