Save the date for Saturday, September 10th starting at 1pm and ending at 4pm at the Lake of the Woods, Woods Center (108 Fairway Dr, Locust Grove VA 22508). The first 100 kids to arrive will receive a free hotdog, chips, and drink! After the first 100, it’s $5 for each child thereafter. If you enjoy singing and dancing and not afraid of sharing the stage, consider auditioning for the Lake of the Woods Player’s Club’s upcoming performance of Scrooge, the Musical! The book, music and lyrics were written by Leslie Bricusse, and this play will be Directed by Barbara Cochran. They are looking for cast members for children 8 and up for this show! Prepare for auditions being held for two days only: Sunday, August 21st from 2pm – 5pm and Monday, August 22nd from 7pm – 9pm. Are you ready for the first concert of the season??? New to Lake of the Woods, The Unsuitables will be kicking off the Concerts on the Point series on Friday, May 27th! The Unsuitables, formed about eight years ago, will begin at 7pm and play tunes from the Temptations to Santana to the Beatles until approximately 9:30pm. The Lake of the Woods Lions Club will be acting as “hospitality committee” at the concert, and hosting a fundraiser. Why not have dinner at the Clubhouse before or during the concert on the deck? Want to bring your own meal? That’s perfect, as well! So bring a chair, your dancing shoes, and enjoy the music with your fellow LOW residents! The concerts are always a great way to spend the evening! Time to get the lake life started!!! Lake of the Woods Clubhouse is hosting their grand opening of their deck with a delicious menu to choose from starting Friday, April 29th! The Licata Group team with the assistance of LOW Fire and Rescue 29 will be hosting a Community Shred Day on Saturday, April 30th from 11 AM – 2PM! Just in time for the end of tax season, so salsa on over and safely and securely shred your documents! The Shred-it truck will be located within the Food Lion parking lot across from the Lake of the Woods front gate, near our office at 36111 Goodwin Drive (between AT&T and CVS). Donations are encouraged but not required, as all proceeds will benefit Lake of the Woods Fire and Rescue. Fire and Rescue will be on-site assisting! We love being a resource to our community, so come and shred to your heart’s content! The Orange County Animal shelter will be present with adoptable animals. Bring your appetite, too! The fabulous Taco Tuesday Food Truck will be there selling a delicious variety of Mexican fare.

The Lake of the Woods Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company Inc posted their Santa Tracker schedule on their website. Santa will begin driving around on the Fire Truck, starting Friday, December 17th around 5pm the ride will be from the Front Gate to Confederate Cir on the marina side of the Lake; then to Sheetz, Food Lion, and Walmart parking lots. The next day, Saturday, December 18th starting about 5pm, Santa will start at Confederate Drive to the Front Gate on the golf course side; then to Sheetz, Food Lion, and Walmart parking lots. Finally, Santa will make his final debut on Sunday, December 19th about 5pm, one trip around Lakeview Pkwy then to Rapidan Rd, Wilderness Shores, and Somerset subdivisions, then to Sheetz, Food Lion, and Walmart parking lots. So wherever you will be during Santa’s visit, plan accordingly so you can wave hello to the jolly-old man in the red suit!
