1st Annual Sunflower Festival

Ever wanted to be spend a day surrounded by Sunflowers? If so, then we have the perfect event for you! fulfill your dreams by being at the Ralph H. Dean Recreation Park for the Town of Luray’s 1st Annual Sunflower Festival! It all begins on September 14th at 10:30 AM with a 1k fun run down the fitness trail, and the fun will continue until 6:00 PM. All donations benefit PACA, a non-profit organization. Kids are sure to be entertained with music, food, pony rides, a petting zoo, pumpkin painting and much more! The fun doesn’t stop there, as you can head to Downtown Luray for dining specials, shopping and sales! Don’t forget to stop by the Warehouse Art Gallery to see live performances all day! On Wednesday, October 28 from 10AM-12PM, LOWLINC will hold a membership information session at the Community Center. The mission of LOWLINC, a 501(c)3 non-profit, is “…to enable seniors and those with physical and cognitive challenges who reside at LOW to continue living fully and independently in their homes for as long as possible.” There are currently over 30 volunteers who are excited to help older residents of Lake of the Woods. Membership is fee-based, with the goal being to provide subsidies for residents in need. RSVP to carolyn@lowlinc.org or Jeri F. at 972-2180.
