The Orange County Chamber of Commerce is happy to be hosting a photo/video contest that will consist of a person’s favorite photo of an Orange County destination, location, or business. The photo/video entry should include two sentences explaining your photo/video.

This year’s 46th Orange County’s Street Festival will be in honor and remembrance of September 11, 2011, with the theme of HONOR OUR HEROES hosted by the Orange County Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s annual beloved community event will take place from 9AM to 4PM on Saturday, September 11th, and typically features over 200 artisans, craft and commercial vendors, a variety of food and beverage options, live music, a kid’s zone, and a beer and wine garden for the adults. This family-friendly festival attracts an average of 5,000+ people from all over Central Virginia each year and is a great opportunity for community awareness and promotion. This event is completely free to attend, grab the kids and friends as this will be fun for all!

July 23 through July 25th, Liberty Mills Farm is hosting a Blooms and Butterflies event! Friday, July 23rd & Saturday, July 24th from 10AM – 3PM. Sunday, July 25th from 11AM – 3PM.
The featured butterflies species showcased are Painted Ladies. They are ordered and delivered to the farm from a small butterfly farm in Massachusetts called Butterflies and Blueberries. Did you know, they are the most widely distributed butterfly in the world? Painted Lady adult butterflies can cover up to 100 miles per day and reach speeds of nearly 30 miles per hour! Butterflies will be available to purchase to release yourself for $10 per butterfly.
Additional activities will include you-pick flowers (the pre-sale price of $25 each), giant zinnias, cosmos, music, a hayride, a farm market, and so much more!
Don’t fear going hungry on Saturday and Sunday, the Firefly on the Fly food truck will be at the farm to support all hungry bellies.

Entries must consist of a favorite photo/video of a business, location or destination within Orange County. For the photo entry, you will also need to include two sentences explaining your photo. The video entry should be no longer than two minutes, and should include commentary by the person taking the video.

The Civic Club will host a forum between Delegate Nick
Freitas and Ann Ridgeway on Tuesday 10/15 at 7pm to 8pm in the lower level of
the clubhouse.
Each will give an opening speech and then followed by written questions submitted by the audience.

Coordinator Ron Kesner will be providing important information to us. He will present
the TRIAD programs administered by the Sheriff’s Office and its importance to
the safety of community as a whole and to its senior population. Deputy Kesner coordinates
senior citizen safety programs between the Sheriff’s Office, the State Attorney
Generals’ office and senior citizens groups and/or senior citizen services
organizations within the county of Orange. The purpose is to promote
senior citizen safety and help eliminate senior citizen victimization.
Deputy
Kesner is a native Virginian, having been born in Covington. He
possesses 37 years of continuous law enforcement service. He retired from
the Albemarle County Police Department in 2009 as a Master Police Officer,
Firearms Instructor, Driving Instructor, Bike Patrol Officer, Fatal Accident
Reconstructionist, Special Operations Group Member and Academy
Instructor. He also had worked for the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office for
10 years and operated the Marine Unit Patrol Boat on Lake Anna as one of my
duties. Deputy Kesner joined the Orange Co. Sheriff’s Office in April of
2019 to fill the position of TRIAD Coordinator.
