Law Enforcement United Food Truck Bash at Wilderness Run
Saturday, November 3rd from 12 pm – 8 pm visit 1781 Brewing Company and Wilderness Run Vineyards at 11109 Plank Rd, Spotsylvania VA 22553 for their Law Enforcement United event. There will be MULTIPLE food trucks available (Pifer Bros BBQ Company, TA-KO, Will’s Place and Juan More Taco FXBG, just to name a few) to choose from for lunch and dinner. Craft brews from 1781 Brewing company and wines from Wilderness Run Vineyards will be available. New Superintendent of Schools by Pat Licata, President
Dr. Cecil Snead took over the leadership of the Orange County Public School on July 1st. Dr. Snead will be the featured speaker at the Civic Club meeting on Wednesday, October 10th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Clubhouse. We encourage you to come to the meeting and welcome our new superintendent of schools.
Dr. Snead, originally from Bedford, VA, pursued a mathematics education degree at Virginia Tech. In earning his teaching degree, he combined his love for helping others with his passion for mathematics. In 2005, he earned his doctorate from Virginia Tech. Dr. Snead came to Orange County after serving as superintendent of schools in Buckingham County for 6 years where he stressed the need to build capacity for best practices in the areas of instruction, technology, finance, and facilities.
Dr. Snead boasts a strong and firm family foundation; he gives credit to his family who support the long hours and dedication needed to be a superintendent. He is most proud that all of his children (all girls) are successful products of public schools. All have completed four year universities, with his youngest child currently completing her third year at the University of Virginia in the computer science program. He has coached junior varsity football, varsity football, and U-12 girl’s soccer. His wife, Sherrie for whom he credits with giving him much of his strength, recently retired from being a teacher. When Dr. Snead is not working, he enjoys his dogs (Kip and Finn), running, reading, hiking, and traveling with his family.
The Civic Club meetings are open to all members of the community and there will be time allotted for questions. Please plan to attend so you may become better acquainted with the leader of our public schools. We look forward to seeing you on the 10th.

The festival will be held by the Lake of the Woods Golf Center on Saturday, October 20th. Golf will begin at 9 AM, sharp. Sign up at the Pro Shop to register to golf. The cost will be $35 per person.
