The local SPCA and other dog rescues will be attending to help find forever homes for dogs in need of a caring, loving home & family!
Join the Dog Festival on Saturday, April 28th between 11 am and 4 pm.
The Orange County Sheriff’s department will be present to show demonstrations of their K-9’s abilities in a covered arena at 1:30 pm !
The ponies and horses will be available for riding at $5 between 11 am and 1 pm.
All well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome to attend! Bring your fur-ever friend and maybe you’ll leave with a new companion for you & your dog!

The first Hunter Horse show for the 2018 season is being hosted by the Lake of the Woods Equestrian center and judged by: Kim Gilberston Pre-enter for discounted entry fees online by visiting: https://www.lowa.org/Amenities/Equestrian-Center LOW sponsors the VHSA/BHSA recognized hunter horse show series. Thursday, April 19th from 3:30 pm – 5pm your children can paint their pet at Grymes Memorial School: 13775 Spicer’s Mill Rd, Orange VA 22960.
The pet your paint class fee is $30 and includes all materials.
You must provide a photo of your pet and they will provide a pre-sketched canvas ready for your child to paint & take home! It is one-day after school program open to all primary & elementary school aged children.
The deadline to register for Paint Your Pet is Friday, April 6th. Space is limited and you MUST pre-register and provide a photo of your pet in advance. Spots fill up quickly so register BEFORE April 6th to truly reserve your seat! If you do register after the deadline, you will be charged a $5 late fee.
The instructor is the current Grymes Memorial art teacher and has 2 children of her own. Her desire to continue sharing her love of art has led to the development of this program.

The Licata Group is excited to support Project Turn OrangeBlue this year in Locust Grove, Virginia.
This is Ben & Sharon Corner’s 5th Annual Project: Turn OrangeBlue and we want to assist with making it another successful year!
There are shirts that can be ordered that read: “They can’t change who they are, we need to change how we treat them” which was said by Ben Corner when he started this project.
Shirts come in medium & large in children sizes for $10.

Orders will be taken from March 12 through March 26th and will be picked up by 12 PM on Monday, March 26th. T-shirts will be delivered the week of Spring Break or Monday, April 9th.

Lake Youth Foundation (LYF) is hosting an Easter Egg hunt at Sweetbriar Park (Sweetbriar Rd, Locust Grove 22508) on Saturday, March 31st, 2018. The event will take place from 12:30pm – 1:30pm. There will be 4 age groups with specific time frames as shown below: 2 years old and under 1 pm 3 – 5 years 1:10p 6 – 8 years 1:20p and 9 – 12 years 1:30p Check-in begins at 12:30pm and they ask that you do not arrive prior to 12:30pm. The Easter Bunny will be there at 12:30pm as well to take photos with you and your little ones! He will remain there after the hunt for another photo opportunity. Don’t forget your cameras! Please also bring a BASKET for each child you will have participating. Registration for the Easter Egg hunt deadline is Saturday, March 24 so register here NOW! If there is bad weather, the egg hunt will be cancelled, however the Easter Bunny will still be available for pictures & each child will receive a treat. This event is free but they will accept donation to help fund other events as well as their scholarship program.
