A Storied Legacy:
In 1950, Delmar Twyman, a distinguished horse showman, moved his family to Montford, Virginia, laying the foundation for what would become Woodbrook Farm Vineyard. Noel Twyman, following in his father’s footsteps, transitioned from Show Hunters to Racehorses, eventually establishing a thriving business in breaking and training Thoroughbred and Steeplechase racehorses. This legacy of champions has now blossomed into an exciting new chapter – the creation of champion Virginia Wines.
The Transformation:
The historic “Training Barn” built in 1982 has been transformed into Woodbrook Farm Vineyard’s inviting wine-tasting room. Thanks to the dedication of Noel’s children, Vaughan Jenkins and Robert Twyman, along with their spouses Noel Jenkins and Carey Twyman, this space now offers a cozy haven where visitors can relish the stories of the vineyard’s history, savor stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and most importantly, taste exceptional wines.
Vineyard Expansion:
In April 2022, Woodbrook Farm Vineyard planted its first vines, covering 5 1/2 acres with varietals such as Petit Manseng, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. A further 1/2 acre of Norton was added in May 2023, rounding out the total under vine to 6 acres. The commitment to quality is evident in every carefully chosen varietal, promising a diverse and exquisite tasting experience.
Tasting and Flights:
Woodbrook Farm Vineyard offers traditional tastings at the bar for a personal touch, as well as a variety of flights that allow guests to find a comfortable spot, sip, and savor. The intimate setting and breathtaking surroundings make each tasting a unique and memorable experience.

For one day, Saturday, April 27th Horton Vineyards, located at: 6399 Spotswood Trail, Gordonsville VA 22942 will be hosting a free Wizarding Winery event! There will be indoor and outdoor games, shopping opportunities with different vendors, complete with make your own wand stations and much more! No tickets will be necessary to purchase or RSVP for.
This magical event will take place from 12pm to 4pm and open to everyone! You are encouraged and welcomed to bring tents and chairs for your group to set up outside as well as dress up and participate in all the activities. There will be Medieval Fantasies Company present dressed up and walking through the crowds for entertainment. The Bavarian Chef will also be at the Vineyard from 11AM – 4PM serving their best delicious dishes! Of course, it’s not complete without wonderful themed treats from Cocoa & Spice and Kilwins Charlottesville. So come thirsty, hungry, and ready for a fun Wizarding event!

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year at Wilderness Run Vineyards and 1781 Brewing Company located at: 11109 Plank Rd, Spotsylvania VA 22553. They are located on the right hand side of Route 3 (if you’re coming from Fredericksburg, VA) and right before you cross into Locust Grove, Virginia. They are known for their beautiful vineyard wines and tasty brewed beers.
On Saturday, March 16th, 2019 from 5PM to 8PM the Celtic Sessions band will be playing, so come listen to some music and enjoy a glass of wine or pint of beer! Dinner will be available from the Pifer Bros BBQ Truck, yum!
