The Lake of the Woods Adaptive Watersports Foundation is back and ready to host the SmileS Adaptive Carnival!
This Carnival brings water sports to people with disabilities of all ages and walks of life, as well as their families. The Carnival is held in honor of 2 highly honored women who left this world too young. What sports will be featured? There will be adaptive waterskiing, tubing, pontoon rides, kayaking, paddleboarding, and additional fun outdoor games! This year, LOW is partnering with Therapeutic Adventures – IndependencePlus Adaptive Sports to bring adaptive paddling!
This event is to take place on Sunday, August 1st at 9AM at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse Point (102 Lake of the Woods Way, Locust Grove, VA 22508).

Check out the beautiful Sunflower Festival by Liberty Mills Farm and Firefly on the Fly Food Truck. There will be multiple opportunities to attend the festival starting August 28th, August 29th, Sept 4th, 5th, and 6th during various times.
There will be 30 different varieties of sunflowers available for your viewing pleasure. Over 5 acres of flowers showing off an array of colors, sizes, and even shapes, making this the perfect place to create your own beautiful bouquet to take home. This festival will also feature local vendors, food trucks, homemade ice cream (yum!) fresh-made fudge, and music. Bring all the kids, family, and friends for a fun time, relaxing in the country!

The Players singing group, The Show Stoppers, will be entertaining the LOW community members and guests on June 18th on the Clubhouse deck. Pool hours for Clubhouse pool are: May 29 – September 6th from 11AM to 7PM, daily. Sweetbriar Pool hours are 1PM – 8PM and are closed on Wednesdays for swim meets.
Snack bars will be open at both pools for yummy snacks and treats for all, featuring new daily specials at the Clubhouse pool.

The father of our country is turning 289, and Ferry Farm is inviting you to celebrate with them! Visit George Washington’s boyhood home on February 15th and celebrate with the whole family from 10AM – 4PM. Guests will be able to engage with archeologists, historians, curators, and various other experts as you learn the history of Ferry Farm and the Washington family. Rumor has it that General Washington himself will be making an appearance to talk about his life growing up on the farm. The annual stone-throwing competition will also take place! Are you looking to give your kids a great experience on the lake this summer? This might be the perfect opportunity! The Junior Sailing Program will be offering two youth sailing camps starting this summer! The first session will be for beginner sailors and will be held from June 22nd through June 26th. The second session will be for the more advanced class, being 2 or more years of JSP camp experience, will be from June 29th to July 2nd. Both camps will be for children 8-15 who can swim and are interested in learning how to sail properly, and safely. Both camps will run from 8AM – 12PM at Sailboat Beach. All campers are required to wear swimsuits, closed-toe water shoes, a Coast Guard-approved life jacket, and must bring a working whistle. The cost for a week-long session of camp is $190, and application forms are available at the Holcomb Building Member Services Area.
