There will be a 50/50 drawing and fundraiser for the purchase of benches for the shower area in the Clubhouse Pool restrooms. Tickets are $25 per person entry fee and include 2 glasses of wine or beer and snacks. It will cost $5 for each additional glass of wine or beer. It’s that time of year again. Mardi Gras, a French word meaning “Fat Tuesday” is reflecting on the practice of the last night of eating rich, fatty foods before Lenten sacrifices and fasting. The exciting carnival-like tradition varies from city to city and the Lake of the Woods celebration will kick off on Saturday, March 4th, 2023 from 6 pm – 11 pm. Sponsored by the LOW Lioness Lions Club, festivities will take place at the Lake of the Woods clubhouse. Tickets go on sale starting February 11, 2023, for $65 per person and can be purchased at lowlioness.org. All proceeds will support the Lioness Lions Foundation, Inc. which services our community. Live music by Reunion Band is sure to kick the party off right at 8pm. Cocktails are to start being served at 6 pm, with dinner at 7, followed by a silent auction. It’s time to break out the fishing poles and bait buckets for the 23rd Annual children’s Fishing Tournament that is being held by the Lake Youth Foundation! Tournament day is Saturday, June 18th from 9am – 11am and will be held at the front entrance pond. Children ages 5 to 14 years old are encouraged to participate! Registration beings today, May 13th, 2022 and ends on June 15th, 2022. Limited space is available to hurry over to lakeyouth.orgto register before spaces are reserved. They will not allow registration the day OF the event. Check-in will begin at 8am on tournament day.
